What is Focus On Reading?

Focus on Reading is a 20-hour curriculum and professional development module developed to improve reading skills for K-12 migrant students. The resources are designed to support Mini-Corps Coordinators to introduce reading strategies to Mini-Corps students (tutors) who work with migrant education children. The Focus on Reading resources are developed from the research-based findings of the National Reading Panel to support effective approaches to teach children to read.

This module contains an opening activity and a closing activity which are recommended to provide an introduction and closure to understanding the components of effective reading instruction.
